WASCAL hosted a courtesy visit from the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto, Professor Peter Appiah Obeng, Dean of the School of Sustainable Engineering, and Professor Benjamin Kofi Nyarko, Geography and Regional Planning Department, at its Headquarters in Accra.
The visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions, including UCC’s role in hosting the English proficiency programme for Anglophone and Lusophone students, as well as temporarily hosting the first cohort of the WASCAL PhD Programme in Climate Change and Agriculture on behalf of the Institut Polytechnique Rural de Formation et de Recherche Appliquée (IPR/IFRA), Mali, before its transfer to the Institute.
During the engagement, Professor Emmanuel Wendsongré Ramdé, Executive Director of WASCAL, and Professor Aheto explored ways to strengthen existing cooperation and identify opportunities for expanded collaboration.
WASCAL looks forward to further advancing this strategic partnership in support of climate research, innovation, and capacity development across West Africa.
