WASCAL and the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) have signed a five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement to deepen collaboration across West Africa.

The agreement opens opportunities for joint work in training and capacity building, research and innovation, climate services and data, shared infrastructure, as well as the development of strategic partnerships and funding opportunities.

Following the signing, officials from 2iE paid a courtesy visit to WASCAL Headquarters in Accra, providing an opportunity for both institutions to exchange ideas and discuss areas where their complementary expertise can contribute to practical solutions for climate and sustainable development challenges.

During the visit, the 2iE delegation endorsed the CCAN signature poster for climate action, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing climate awareness and collective action.

From strengthening skills and supporting research to advancing climate services, renewable energy and sustainable development, the partnership brings together complementary expertise with a shared commitment to contributing to Africaโ€™s development.

With the framework now in place, the focus shifts from agreement to action, turning knowledge, expertise and partnerships into practical solutions for a more climate-resilient and sustainable West Africa.

Work begins now.
