The Digital Communication Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing WASCAL’s online presence and digital visibility. The role is designed for a creative, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in visual design, multimedia production, and social media management.
The successful candidate will support the Communication and Public Relations Division to create engaging digital content, design multimedia materials, and manage WASCAL’s digital communication platforms to ensure alignment with the organization’s climate change goals.

Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Design and Branding
- Create visually compelling digital and print materials, including flyers, social media graphics, brochures, and infographics using Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
- Ensure brand consistency across all visual and communication materials.
- Design visuals for events, campaigns, reports, and stakeholder engagements.
2. Multimedia Production
- Capture and edit high-quality photographs and videos of WASCAL activities, workshops, and field missions.
- Support livestreaming, video scripting, and multimedia storytelling for special campaigns such as COP events, I3C-JET, donor events, and academic programmes.
3. Digital and Social Media Management
- Assist in managing WASCAL’s official social media accounts (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram), ensuring regular, engaging, and informative updates.
4. Website and Content Support
- Assist in updating and maintaining the WASCAL website, ensuring information accuracy and visual appeal.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, Communication Design, Strategic Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or CorelDraw.
- Experience in photography, videography, and multimedia editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or related software).
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with attention to detail and creativity.
- Knowledge of social media trends and analytics.
