WASCAL to Engage Stakeholders on Paris Agreement at Africa Climate Week

The West Africa Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment Science Technology and Innovation (MESTI), and the University of Ghana (UG), will host key stakeholders within the climate change space during the upcoming Africa Climate Conference on the 20th of March 2019 at the Accra Conference Centre, on the topic: “The Paris Agreement: From Science to Policy for NDCs Implementation”.

The focus of the event is to discuss how science can help West African countries to effectively and efficiently implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement and climate action to deliver on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

WASCAL’s role will be highlighted as a key actor for the development of climate change information for development sectors and ways about how to transfer such information into policy.

This year’s Africa Climate Week will bring together diverse actors from the public and private sectors and will be instrumental in demonstrating that there is genuine international support for stepping-up climate action.

Africa Climate Week will also provide encouragement to the implementation of countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions.

The time is from 12:30-1:30pm. Contact the Public Relations Department on 0501528986 for further enquiry and participation.
