German Parliamentarians Visit WASCAL

The committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment of the Federal Republic of German Parliament paid a working visit to WASCAL at its headquarters in Accra to familiarize themselves with the operations of the German funded organization.

They interacted with a cross section of WASCAL Alumni, staff and management, led by the Executive Director, Dr. Moumini Savadogo.

Among the key highlights of the discussions were how WASCAL’s success stories can be cascaded to grassroot stakeholders like farmers as well as how policy makers will make maximum use of data collected by the organization’s unique approach to mitigating and adapting to climate change within the sub-region.

Dr. Savadogo, in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the government of Germany and spelt out some of the key success stories WASCAL has chalked in the areas of capacity building, climate services, research and infrastructure.

The committee was delighted about WASCAL’s immense contribution, under the German Ministry.
