WASCAL ANNOUNCES THE RESIGNATION OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, DR. MOUMINI SAVADOGO

Accra, GHANA. The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has announced the resignation of its Executive Director, Dr. Moumini Savadogo, after leading the operations of the organization for five and half years.

During his tenure, Dr. Savadogo played a pivotal role in the growth and success of WASCAL. Under his leadership, the institution achieved numerous milestones. His unwavering dedication, strategic insights, and commitment to excellence have greatly contributed to the organization’s position as a leader in contributing towards meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 on Climate Action.

At a farewell dinner organized in his honour, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead WASCAL and conveyed his pride in the accomplishments achieved during his tenure.

Prof. Kehinde Ogunjobi, Director at the WASCAL Competence Centre, has since been made the interim Executive Director by the Governing Board. He will ensure continuity and smooth operations for the organization.

WASCAL Ministerial Council and Governing Board are grateful for Dr. Savdogo’s invaluable contributions and leadership during his tenure as the Executive Director. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.

WASCAL would like to thank all its stakeholders, including staff, partners, and shareholders, for their continued support and confidence in the organization. WASCAL remains committed to combating climate change, improving livelihoods, and promoting renewable energy and green hydrogen in West Africa. The board is confident in the talent and expertise of Prof. Ogunjobi and the Executive Management Team and employees, who will continue to drive the organization forward.
