WASCAL GRADUATE SCHOOL DIRECTORS DELIBRATE ON INNOVATIVE WAYS TO BUILD CLIMATE CHANGE CAPACITIES IN WEST AFRICA

A two-day meeting of Directors of WASCAL Graduate Studies Programme (GSP) from twelve lead Universities was held virtually in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to deliberate on building sustainable innovative centre of excellence in Climate Change.

The objective of the meeting was to deliberate on accreditation processes of the school curricula, share best practices of monitoring the activities in the GSPs, including student progress, scientific and service provision, achievements of the graduate schools, the German scientific collaboration challenges, and perspectives as well as the sustainability and expansion of the graduate schools.

Speaking at the opening session, Prof. René Haak, from BMBF approved the commencement of admissions for the 5th batch of students to the International Master’s Research Programme and Green Hydrogen Programme.  He also encouraged the expansion of scientific collaboration with German partners and participation to events in Germany.

Dr. Moumini Savadogo, the Executive Director of WASCAL, expressed gratitude to BMBF for their continuous support to WASCAL GSPs particularly with the introduction of the master’s Programme in Green Hydrogen and the approval of the 5th batch in the existing graduate schools.
