WORKSHOP: WASCAL AND PIK TO VALIDATE A STUDY ON CLIMATE RISK ANALYSIS

WORKSHOP: WASCAL AND PIK TO VALIDATE A STUDY ON CLIMATE RISK ANALYSIS   FOR THE IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF ADAPTATION STRATEGIES IN BURKINA FASO

The negative impacts of Climate change on human being are getting more and more alarming, leading decision makers to request for more comprehensive and adapted solutions to the negative and unpredictable effects of climate change.

That’s why, in line with its vision, WASCAL (West African Science Centre on climate Change and Adapted land use) in collaboration with PIK (the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) has conducted a study on ‘’CLIMATE RISK ANALYSIS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF ADAPTATION STRATEGIES IN BURKINA FASO’’

After one year of implementation, WASCAL and its partner PIK are organizing a validation workshop from the 21st and 22nd October 2021, at the Competence Centre, in Ouagadougou.

The objective of the workshop is to bring together technical and policy experts to discuss and validate the results of the climate risk analysis and identify implementation modalities.

The study was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in close collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
