Dr. Safiétou Sanfo
Senior ScientistDr. Safiétou Sanfo is an Agricultural Economist and impact analyst at the WASCAL Competence Centre.
She holds a PhD in Economics from Paris 1, Sorbonne University, France.
She coordinates the WASCAL Regional Thematic on Rural Urban and Cross Border Migration. Her research interests lie in climate change economics, adaptation strategies, and livelihoods. In recent years, she has focused on climate change, migration, impact evaluation using bio-economic and mathematical programming modeling, circular economy, governance, and institutions. Safietou Sanfo has received several research grants and professional awards, including the AVhi, the LIRA climate change and SDGs, ADA/Research Meets Africa Awards.
She has experience teaching climate change economics, Development Economics, Food security, Agricultural economics, Agri-Business, and Sustainable Development. Safietou Sanfo is actively involved in several research and development projects on climate change-related issues. She is Associate Editor of « Emerging Science Journals, Life Science» Change and Adaptation in Socio-Ecological Systems (CASES), De Gruyter Open (April 2014 to present), and Member of the Advisory Board of the Swedish international programme of training on Climate change, mitigation, and adaptation.
