Prof. Aboudou Raoufou Pierre Radji

Prof. Pierre Raoufou Aboudou Radji is the Togolese representative on the WASCAL Governing Board. He holds a PhD in Developmental Biology, specialising in Ornamental Horticulture and Urban Ecology, and a master’s degree in Educational Sciences with a focus on the use of information and communication technologies in education and training (UTICEF).

Prof. Radji is a Professor of Plant Biology with a specialisation in Urban Ecology and Ornamental Horticulture. Previously, he was a member of the Budget Committee Governing Board of GBIF in Togo and served as Node Manager & HoD at OCDI/Caritas, and as part of the Finance and Resource Mobilization Commission. He also managed the master’s programme in Forestry and Climate Change studies at the Lab of Forest Research, EAMAU (African School of Architecture and Urban Planning). Additionally, he has been a Senior Lecturer at Togo Public Universities and the Scientific Curator at the Togo National Herbarium.

He possesses extensive skills in financial, budgeting, and accounting project management; leadership; organisational and change management; strategic business and programme development; human capital management; research and development coordination; stakeholder management; networking and communications; project design and monitoring; administration; and biodiversity informatics. His expertise extends to invasive alien species in Togo (IAS), ornamental horticulture and urban ecology, botany and plant physiology, algology, sustainable forest management, and database management.

Prof. Radji has 57 publications in 45 different journals and has been invited to numerous international conferences.
